Participation fee

The participation fee is CHF 560 per person per week. The following services are included in the price:

• Accommodation
• Language lessons (20 lessons)
• cultural programme

When registering for the summer school, half of the participation fee (CHF 280 per week) must be paid by bank transfer. The remaining amount is to be paid in cash and in euros on the day of arrival.

Additional costs

Please note that participants are responsible for organising their own travel to and from the event. Travelling expenses are not included in the participation fee.

No meals are provided unless they are part of the cultural programme, e.g. on excursion days or cooking evenings. All flats have well-equipped kitchens. Further useful information about catering in Riga can be found here.

Financing options

Slavic and Eastern European studies students from Fribourg, Bern, Basel and Lausanne can apply for partial funding to attend the summer school as part of a study trip. The costs are usually reimbursed after the trip. If you are studying at another university or another subject, please enquire about funding options with the relevant office (e.g. your Russian teacher, student advisory service). If you have any questions, our coordinators will be happy to help you.
