ERS Riga: A living, learning and meeting space

The ERS Summer School takes place in July and is structured as 4 week modules that can also be taken individually. It is organised in cooperation with several Swiss Slavic institutes and is open to students from all universities and disciplines who are interested in Russian and Latvian language, history and culture. A total of 45 students from Switzerland, Germany, England and the USA took part in the last summer school.

The concept of the summer school is immersive: students, lecturers and experts live together under one roof, which promotes an informal exchange. In the mornings, intensive language courses in Russian and Latvian take place (participation is optional). In the afternoons, a varied cultural, excursion and leisure programme is offered.
