Cultural and leisure programme

Our language courses are accompanied by an intensive and varied cultural and leisure programme. We explore the Latvian region, concentrating on the capital city, 45 per cent of whose population is Russian-speaking. The focus is on the history and present of Russian-Latvian coexistence and its interaction with other cultures (e.g. German and Jewish). The cultural programme includes excursions, workshops, expert talks and specialist lectures and covers such diverse aspects as history, architecture and urban planning, literature, art, theatre and politics.

Each week is dedicated to a specific theme. On Thursdays, we organise all-day excursions with a joint lunch. We also try to include Latvia's natural attractions in our programme.

We also organise additional joint activities depending on the weather and mood (beach, kayaking, cooking and film evenings, games, parties, etc.).
